For Every Generation

Room for Everyone.
Space for Each Other.

Multi-generational holidays in the Conwy Valley. Two dog-friendly cottages, a warm indoor pool and a layout that works from toddlers to grandparents.
“...two properties attached to each other (no internal connection) which actually worked really well as my elderly parents were able to enjoy their own space... Indoor swimming pool was a real bonus for the children.”

Two Front Doors. One Place to Gather.
Three generations on one holiday is a lovely idea and a logistical puzzle. Different bedtimes, different mealtimes, different ideas of a good morning. The usual answer is one big house, where everyone shares one kitchen, one sitting room and one schedule whether they like it or not.
Ours works differently. Fig Tree and Laurel are two self-contained cottages, side by side around a shared courtyard, bookable together as The Entire Getaway for up to nine guests and four dogs. They are neighbouring cottages, not one house joined together, so each household has its own front door, kitchen, living space and rhythm. Everyone can gather in the pool, on the patios and across the garden, then retreat to their own space when they need to.

Below, you’ll find how the setup works in practice, where everyone can gather and what to check before booking. For full sleeping arrangements and cottage details, see The Entire Getaway →.

The Setup

The Setup at a Glance

Book The Entire Getaway and both cottages are yours. Fig Tree sleeps up to five, Laurel sleeps up to four.

They sit side by side around a shared courtyard, with their own front doors, kitchens, living spaces and private hot tubs. The indoor pool is just across the courtyard. Beyond the patios, there’s an acre of shared garden and views across the Conwy Valley towards Eryri.

The setup is simple: space to gather, space to split off and enough separation for different households to keep their own rhythm.

The Shared Space

Somewhere Everyone Gathers

When you book The Entire Getaway, the heated indoor pool is exclusively yours: no time slots, no strangers and no need to plan around the weather.

It gives mixed-age groups an easy shared focus: somewhere warm, indoors and right across the courtyard.

Evenings Sorted

There is no waiting and no compromise. Both hot tubs are set to 38°C year-round and both look out across the Conwy Valley towards the Carneddau.

Once younger children are settled, adults from both cottages can use the tubs simultaneously, enjoy their own space, or gather together on one patio.

No queueing, no negotiating, no one waiting for their turn.

Practical Comfort

Single-Storey Comfort

Both Fig Tree and Laurel are single-storey throughout, with no internal steps. The living spaces are open-plan and parking is close to each cottage entrance.

For mixed-age groups, that matters. Grandparents are not dealing with stairs, parents of young children have one less thing to think about and guests with limited mobility can check the practical detail before booking.

Useful to Know
  • Single-storey cottages
  • No internal steps
  • Parking close to each entrance
  • Doorways minimum 750mm

Is the Entire Getaway Right for your Group?

The two-cottage layout is the main advantage of The Entire Getaway, but it is also the most important thing to understand before booking.

It suits groups who want:

  • space for grandparents, parents and children
  • two households travelling together
  • different bedtimes, routines or noise levels
  • shared facilities without one big shared house
  • time together without being permanently in each other’s pockets

It may not suit groups who need:

  • one large communal living room
  • a single indoor dining table for the whole group
  • bedrooms and living spaces connected internally
  • everyone to stay together under one front door

Worth knowing before you book

Layout

Fig Tree and Laurel sit side by side, but they are not internally connected. You move between them outside, either through the shared courtyard or along the covered verandah that runs across the back of both cottages.

Group size

The maximum occupancy is nine guests, plus up to two infants in travel cots: Fig Tree sleeps five and Laurel sleeps four. Travel cots are available on request, please bring your own cot bedding.

Dining

Each cottage has its own dining table, seating five in Fig Tree and four in Laurel. There is no single indoor table where all nine guests can eat together.

Pool use

When both cottages are booked together as The Entire Getaway, the indoor pool is exclusively for your group.

No. Fig Tree and Laurel are both single-storey throughout, with no internal steps. Parking is close to each cottage entrance. Shower trays, baths, hot tubs and the pool ladder do still require stepping in or over, so it is worth checking the Accessibility Guide if anyone in your group has limited mobility.

Yes, travel cots and high chairs are available on request. Please let us know when booking, and bring your own cot bedding.

Yes, but children must be supervised. The indoor pool is 1.5m deep throughout, with no shallow end, and entry is by ladder with handrails. Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Children under 6 are not permitted in the hot tubs. Children aged 6 to 15 must be supervised by an adult. Each cottage has its own private hot tub, so families can use them separately or at the same time.

There is no single indoor dining table for nine. Fig Tree has dining space for five and Laurel has dining space for four. This suits groups who prefer a flexible rhythm, with some meals together on the patios or in smaller groups indoors.

The garden is open rather than fully enclosed. There are no internal fences between the patios and lawn, and the driveway remains open. Children and dogs should be supervised outside.

Out & About

Split Up for the Day. Regroup by Evening.

The Conwy Valley puts many of North Wales’ best days out within easy reach.

Bodnant Garden is around ten minutes away, with gardens, gentler paths and a very good café. Betws-y-Coed and Zip World are around twenty minutes in the other direction. Llandudno’s seafront, pier and Great Orme are within half an hour.

Different members of your group can split for the day and meet back at the pool by evening. Nobody needs to spend the whole holiday in the car, and nobody has to agree on the same plan every day.

Where to Stay

Ready to Bring Everyone Together?

For multi-generational groups, The Entire Getaway is the natural choice: both cottages, exclusive pool use, two private hot tubs and the shared garden, with no other guest bookings on site.

For smaller groups, Fig Tree and Laurel each work well for a single family holiday with grandparents, parents or young children.
